Biography

Welcome to my blog! A place where I share my digital scrapbook design business with you as well as a few feathers from my nest. I am a Minnesotan, Christ lovin, wife, mom, stepmom, daughter, sister and friend, blessed with an amazing husband and best friend, Dean, two children: Dawson and Ava, three stepchildren: Matt, Anne, and Alyssa, and one grandson, Bodi. I do what I do for you, my family!
My journey…..really started in 2000, right after my son Dawson was born. I was introduced to scrapbooking through Creative Memories. Bit by bit, I dabbled into the wider spectrum of scrapbooking and fell in love with Archivers which brought to life a whole new world of creative tools and inspiration. In 2006, I became a email signature “junkie” so to speak, lol. One day I stumbled on a site that sold digital scrapbook supplies and since I had already taken my hand at learning some different computer software programs for graphic design, I decided I had to check it out. Once inside, my eyes were wide open to the world of digital scrapbooking and I became obsessed. Obsessed with the idea of finding a more simplified way to create a scrapbook layout, the digital world gave birth to a completely amazing new direction in my creativity. Interesting enough, today that same store that opened my eyes to the world of digital scrapbooking, has also become my home for selling my designs, The Digi Chick. From there the journey started to really take off. Upon googling and digging and searching for any and all information I might need to understand this digital adventure, I discovered a deep love and passion for digital scrapbooking and graphic design. After teaching myself how to actually create a digital layout, I decided I wanted to know MORE! Imagine that! LOL….
I began an exploration of research on becoming someone who not only designed digital layouts for my personal albums, but someone who designed the digital/graphic components to create the digital layout. In the early part of 2007 after gathering my tools for the trade, I began teaching myself how to design digtal scrapbook elements and papers. On May 1, 2007, I released my first digital scrapbook kit and ever since I have been blooming, growing, evolving and refining my style as a digital scrapbook designer. Today, I would consider my style shabby funk. I love to doodle and sketch in the midst of that shabby funk. Each day is a growing, learning experience in this personal, passionate, delightful, and simply wonderful part of this exciting journey in my life. This blog is an extension of that journey! Remain blessed and see you in the blog!
